New York was a hotbed of influential creative innovation in the 1970s. That’s why, for this Fashion’s Night Out, OAK is throwing Disco Dive and revisiting the spirit of New York’s golden era – where everything goes.
The party will be happening on September 8th 2011 from 7-10 pm at 28 Bond St. Upstairs, uptown disco culture will reign with interiors curated by Scott Bromley — the architect behind original Studio 54 — and disco hits spinning on the decks. Downstairs will be grittier; a downtown rock dive curated by the boys from Ksubi with a garage and psych-rock set-list and psychedelic projections. Cocktails, of course, and limited edition tees by San Francisco’s The Seventh Heart.
CBGBs, Max’s Kansas City, and Studio 54 don’t exist anymore, but that doesn’t mean that the party has stopped. Join us at OAK for what will be a real wild time.
